Christmas quilt

I worked so hard on my Red and White quilt. It was my goal to finish it before Christmas. I almost made it. This picture was taken on Christmas eve.....If you take a good look you can also see that I was too much in a hurry... I am not satisfied with my straight lines. I didn't draw them before and now they are wavy :-/( I need more practise to do this freehanded) I decided to leave it like this. Nobody is perfect !

Today I finished the quilt. And I arrived to a tricky part: I wanted to wash it to get an antique look. I was so afraid of bleeding with the red fabric against the white. That wasn't necessary.....

LOOK ! It is finished !!!

Lucy

note: The red fabric is a Kona Kaufmann

This red and white quilt is so beautiful. And I am so glad you finihed it to christmas. Washing red and white can be scary but it turned well out in this case.
I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new sewingyear.

It's a wonderfully beautiful quilt Lucy, and any little imperfections that you may be seeing simply add to it's charm. What a perfect quilt for Christmas!

It looks like another wonderful quilt, Lucy. Don't worry about the 'wavy' lines, I bet no one else will notice them.

Lucy it is wonderful! I love it! I can't believe how fast you can quilt! I"m glad you didn't change the lines, I can't tell at all. Plus it makes it look "real"!

As soon as I logged in to your blog I saw the quilt and shouted out loud "wow - she finished it!" LOL. It looks wonderful and it just goes to show how much we can accomplish by working on something every day, or at least regularly. I Love it :-)

That looks so pretty and festive! And the red/white combination is good for both Christmas AND Valentine's Day celebrations. :)

It looks like it's a good size too, for both hanging on a wall or as a table cover!

The red/white star is just beautiful - and thankfully it washed just fine.

I just realized you were not on my BLOGLINES -- I've missed looking at your projects. Well, you are there now -- I don't want to miss anything you do.

Happy New Year.
