Sunday

The weather is extremely hot for the time of the year! It looks like spring is forgotten and we moved from winter to summer. Yesterday it was great weather for a nice bycicle ride in the dunes. We passed the ruine van Brederode . A place of beautifull scenery.(scroll down until you come across the word “bouwgeschiedenis”in bright yellow for the English text)

We also saw some Highlanders.( Schotse Hooglanders) They are fabulous to see.. . Aren't they beautiful!!

At this time I am not so much into sewing. I like to read in the garden and I am reading the little House on the Prairie ( I think for the third time in my life , and it is never boring :-)

And last but not least I promised you a picture of bluetits in the birdhouse, well here it is. It is a thrill to see them build their nest and raise their children:-)

It is so interesting to read your blog, Lucy. I am fascinated by your term 'highlander' and am doing a search on that, next. Is that what we might call a 'musk ox?' I love seeing the photos you include, experiencing others' worlds through their eyes is one of the best parts of blogging. I am thrilled that you get to go on this trip, but also very jealous ;)

Thank you for sharing these pictures -- it looks a lot like my neighborhood (well, except for the castle, of course).

What a relaxing post. Your bike ride, the scenery, the animals, the bird house, and a good book. Awww, that is life at it's best!

Lucy, What a beautiful spring you are having there. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Little House is one of my favorite childhood books.

Lucy, so glad I came upon your blog! I see your reading Little House on the Prairie! It is my favorite, I also have it on cd and it stays on in my car, lol. The kids get so frustrated with me. Right now I am reading The Golden Years, I think it's the 6th book or maybe 5th in the Little House series. You are very creative, I love quilts, but haven't done any quilting in a few years. So you'll be going on your trip soon! I know you'll have a blast and come back with some great stories to share. Be careful and have a safe trip. God bless you and keep you. Have much fun!!!

I don't wonder that you're not so interested in sewing at the moment with gorgeous weather and beautiful places to roam! Lovely.

Enjoy Little House on the Prairie. It is such a classic. We have Scottish Highland cows up near our cottage and see them regularly. You never tire of these majestic creatures!

Lucy - tried to email you but it keeps coming back. In answer to your note today:
I know, I was thinking about that. I always cry when I'm going to be gone but I have such a good time while I"m gone! Isn't it exciting! Wait till you see that shop. If it is anything like last year you will be in heaven. I couldn't believe my eyes when I was there. I bet I made them cut fabric off 30 bolts last year for me! It took forever! But I was soooo happy!
