Feathered Star 2

My son is holding my feathered star for a picture. He thought I would take it without you can see him ;-) It isn't easy to snap a picture from an almost 17 years old son! As a mom I took this chance :-))

For the feathered star: I will make 9 stars. This size is too small for me. I will go for a bed size quilt and I will add a tiny bit brow and grey to give it more an antique look. So this quilt will be continued :-)

Lucy, your beautiful son looks quite a bit like you. My son is running around in exactly the same pants. Your feathered stars are pure heaven, I just can't wait to see more. It will be so perfect as a full-sized quilt.

I was going to say 'It's beautiful and so is the quilt' but that's a terribly lame joke!

The feathered star really is gorgeous Lucy - it will be an amazing bed quilt :)

I love this quilt!!! Is the feathered star a hard block to make? With the pinwheels in the sashing, it has great movement and reminds me of falling snow. Beautiful!!! Your son looks quit a bit like you I think.

Oh Lucy, I know this might sound sappy, but your quilt is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes. I love the design. . .the colors. . .and of course, the very handsome young man holding it! He reminds me of my 19-year-old. Too bad we live so far apart. I am quite certain they would enjoy being friends!

Enjoy a happy day!

Dear friend,
I just came back from summer vacation. While visiting your blog, I read the sad news about your Dad... I'm so sorry, dear ! Please accept my warm, heartful condoleances... I know how deeply you loved each other, and I'm convinced he will keep filling your life with his touch...(Sorry, Lucy, I wanted to send this by e-mail to you, but couldn't find your e-mail address right now...)

A biiiiiig ((HUG)) from me to you !

Your son is such a handsome model. :) It's going to look nice as a bed sized quilt, the stars are very dramatic.

I love this quilt--your move to get the pinwheels away from the points shows you have a very good eye.
My 16 year old, Eve, hopes to visit family in the Netherlands next summer--shall we be awful matchmaking parents?

Wonderful quilt and cute son. Sometimes Moms have to be a bit sneaky in order to get a good picture of the kids.

Love the feathered star Lucy, that is on my list to do someday. Nine stars will make it absolutely stunning, and then it will be big enough for your son to hide behind properly. If you let him read all these comments you'll probably scare him off!

What a gorgeous quilt. I just love your fabric choices. I have 16 and 19 year old sons. When I saw this picture of your son, I told them, "See, you're not the only kids that get stuck holding quilts for their mom!"

Very nice pattern and sewing! I've not seen this pattern before, where did you find it? You've got a very nice blog, and you've got a good taste for quilts!
