But what I need and want to do takes more than 13 hours a day. So my conclusion: The day is too short or I need more hours in a day . LOL
Finally I finished the first block of my fourblock applique I started months ago ! I am really happy with the result.
And I know what I am going to do with the fabrics I received from you all :-) . In the same period my dear friend Kathie sent me a tumbler template. Yeahh that's it. That is the idea I was looking for :-)

Aha, tumblers, that will be pretty! And your 1st block of 4 blocks is pure heaven. What applique method did you use?
hoi Lucy een woord prachtig.
Tumbler is so fun to make. And now you can gather all the fabrics you got into one friendship quilt.
Oh Lucy, Your applique block is spectacular! The tumbler pattern will make a wonderful memory quilt with your friendship fabrics.
Beautiful applique.
I love the tumbler quilt and I love your fabrics. I can't wait to see it done.
Oh Lucy! That block is to die for! I LOVE it! Oh my! I'd say I"d go down and make one right now... but it seems applique is just not on my list right now! I have so many things to do. Ahhh, and the applique piece you'll see on my blog tonight, well I"m going to invisible machine it to get it done!
I love tumbler quilts. I'll be watching to see this one develop.
Your appliqué is.....woaw ! no words to say how much it is wonderful !!!
Lucy - your applique block is exquisite and of course the nice thing about doing a four block quilt is you're already one quarter of the way through. The tumblers will be a lovely way to make something to incorporate all the different fabrics you were sent
Tumbler will be lovely for all those beautiful fabrics :-)
Hi!
Love the new applique block, and the tumbler will be perfect. How big are the tumblerpieces going to be?
and the feeling of not having enough time...I totally get that..*lol* I even trying to find a new way to get my UFO's done (see blog)
Gorgeous applique block. The tumbler pieces will be just the right way to use your fabrics.
I love the idea of a tumble quilt from your friends fabric! I made one years and years ago, I do love those old, old traditional patterns. Have fun with it! Hugs, Finn
It will be fun to watch your tumbler quilt grow. If you ever figure out how to add hours to the day, please let us know!
Prachtig applique werk! De kleuren zijn erg goed gekozen, erg sprekend. Ik snap wat je bedoeld met te weinig uren in een dag, Je bent toch aardig productief!
It turned out spectacular Lucy and I think you just auditioned the perfect border color for it, I love the green it is laying on!
Oh, that appliqué block of yours is so beautiful. I especially love the warm colors. And a tumbler seems perfect, esp since a lot of the fabrics seem to be repros.
Lucy, your applique block is one of the most beautiful I've seen. Your color choice and placement are perfect. Truly a beautiful piece of work!
The Tumbler will be fun to watch as you grow it!
Hi Lucy,
I like the tumbler quilt in construction. I think it will be lovely once it is finished. Did not know of the existence of a tumbler template. This is handy. Will you post a picture once it is done?
One down, three to go! I'm fighting the urge to start an applique pattern, I've got so much else to do. But I love red and green quilts so much I think I might just have to give in. Your stitching is beautiful and the design is great too- did you draft it yourself? I came across one just like this in The Quilt Index and thought "That's Lucy's Applique!!"
And the green below it does look really good.
I love it! Great color combination! Lovely pattern.
I have never made a tumbler block quilt. I do have it in my wish list though.
That applique block is beautiful and the tumblers should be lots of fun -- what a wonderful memory from all of those fabrics!
Lucy, your applique quilt is stunning, beautiful needlework.
Lucy, here's my test comment, and I love the idea of a tumbler block quilt, I've never made one.
I have a tiny tumbler that I got a a guild show silient auction...I've always thought it would be nice to make a larger one! Have fun with it!
Lucy...I love your applique block too...I couldn't find it at first, thinking that the picture was a finished quilt! When I clicked on the picture, I noticed the raw edges :-). Prachtig!! A green border would suit it. I have a tiny tumbler template too that I bought somewhere. My plan is to make a sewing themed fabrics miniature quilt out of it. I'd forgotten about it...may have to get the template out and cut out some tumblers soon!
