Time flies

Ohh time flies.... it is running so fast!

Last week I was working on my tumbler blocks with all the fabrics I received after my dad passed away!! Two of my quilt friends like the tumblers so much that they had to make one themselves. I thought it was fun to sew together so I invited them for a tumbler party ! Isis was free from school and she was so sweet as to take care of the catering for us! ( she understands that her mom was in a competition to win the tumbler race... did I just say party ??)

This is what I sewed till so far! It looks cozy don't you think?

Lucy

ps.. I hope to post tomorrow my other project I started...

You make the best quilts!

How large will it be and will you hand quilt this one? This looks like a fun winter project. I've got the tumbler template, and now after seeing your quilt, I want one too!

I wasn't blogging when the fabrics were sent to you. Let me know if there is something I could send.

Can't wait to see your next project.

I've been checking in daily and hadn't seen a post since 10/21, so was starting to despair! Aha, you have been soooo busy ~ I can see what you've accomplished and it is lovely. Thanks to dear Isis who is catering, you haven't been distracted and have gotten a lot done. Good work.

It is wonderful! I meant to email you this week and see how you were! BUT - it ended up being a worse than bad week at work! I just love all those greens in the tumbler!

Oh how yummy is your quilt. Wonderful idea to make your memory quilt with this pattern. What a sweet girl to be the waitress on her "day off". :o)

Lucy - this is turning out to be just THE BEST way of using all those different fabrics - very therapeutic

It's beautiful, Lucy. The tumbler is my favorite one-patch. Isis is a very good helper.

The quilt is turning out so nice Lucy! I even saw my Canada fabric in the picture of the quilt on the floor. Isis was so sweet to be the caterer..you ladies look like you're having so much fun!

Love seeing all the windows in your house! So typical of the Dutch houses...makes me want to come to Holland for a visit!

I have the very same tan colored little Singer Sewhandy. My Mother gave it to me on my 7th birthday (I'm not saying how old I am). It is in the original box and I have the original instructions (all pictures no words). I have never seen another one until now.

Your tumbler quilt is beautiful. I'm searching for my fabric pieces, lol! I'm sure all your friends are. :) I've never seen this pattern before. I really like it. So interesting. . .and your party looked like much fun. How sweet of Isis to play hostess for you.

Enjoy a happy day!

Your Tumbler is already very colorful, and having all of the variety of scraps will make this one all the better.

How wonderful to have fabrics from others to add to this quilt. The Tumbler party (and the contest), surrounded by a sweet daughter to help with the Tumbler party, will help bring so many joyful memories into this quilt.

Already a fantastic beginning. I can't wait to see it grow. I hope you plan to hand-quilt this one!!

Hey, I'm doing a tumbler too! Yours look great, good and scrappy. I just love the shape, and it sews up so easily. What a cool idea to have a tumbler party, you've given me a goood idea there!

Lucy, I found my fabric in your tumbler quilt... how exciting. It is absolutely gorgeous and I can't imagine how special it has been to work on. I enjoy your blog often, although I don't always leave comments.
