I love traditional patterns like that. Are you going to make every block with different fabric? BTW, I ordered the craft book so I can make the Little Faithy doll (since I didn't win it)! Ha Ha!! Don't know when I'll do it, tho. At my guild meeting last night we had information on dying and they said that tea & coffee dyes are acidic and they suggested using a tan dye (which I guess you can water down somewhat). I'm going to try that when I make the doll.
The Ebay quilt is great. I love the colours. I have always wanted to make one like that too. I bet yours will look even better! AQnd about laundering and cleaning, it won´t go away so it can just as well wait one more day! Take care.
That quilt will be stunning Lucy! I’m with you on the cleaning stuff! From the moment I had finished my clients orders today, I have been working on quiltblocks. I love it! I did not have the patience to sit outside and enjoy the sun...
A quilter can never get enough "whites", now can she? I seem to hoard them, yet I murmur to myself in the process of using "just" white as the contrasting colour: This will get boring... You prove me wrong! The quilt will be absolutely wonderful. And super-exciting! Good for you for skipping (postponing?) the chores;-) So happy to see the result of you being happy, Lucy. Thank you for sharing!
Your blocks look like left overs from the original. Can't wait to see your quilt when it's finished. This is a pattern that I've often thought of doing...someday...
Hey, we have a new puppy...wait til you see what we named her...!
I saw that pattern in a book I picked up recently on swap blocks and friendship exchanges. I'm a traditional quilter for the most part, too. Looks nice! Karen www.merriecuylter.blogspot.com
Love your beginning Lady of the Lake. I've been saving scraps for it (precut squares from leftovers of other quilts). Eventually, though, I will have to buy some 'scraps' as I lack background fabrics. Great job!
