Look what I made yesterday while my quiltgroup was here. It's not perfectly sewn it's a bit crooked, but I had so much fun. Isn't that what counts right?
I love minature blocks - the one that you have pictured looks like one from the "Nearly Insane" book -- I'm in the middle of my second Dear Jane quilt so I know a lot of the hard work that goes into the small quilts! Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
Your mini looks lovely, Lucy, and yes, the fun counts, doesn't it? I am making a little cradle quilt right now and it looks far from perfect, but since it will be used I don't really mind. It's the fun ... About the Christmas trees of felt: this wasn't a kit or something. Heidi gave us the trees (Ikea?) and added beads and thread etc. to it. The girls took out their own beads etc. as well.
This is so beautiful, and for me, it brings up a childhood memory which I was just talking about with my quilt friend Nancy a few days ago. When I was little the girl next door had a set of blocks that could be used make designs. My favorite side was the one made of red and white triangles, like your mini. I had so much fun playing with those blocks...And yesterday I was playing with my almost four year old grandson with a "parquetry" toy with colored wooden shapes that could be arranged in many patterns. I think there must be a gene for this, don't you!
Mini quilts let us enjoy a bit of quilt goodness throughout our homes and workspace. I have always enjoyed the two color quilts. Nice that you have a quilt group to spend time with. I like that idea! Happy quilting! Kim
Your mini quilt is very striking. I very much like red & white quilts. I find that in sewing the tiny pieces for mini quilts, it is really difficult to have a little quilt turn out nice and straight. I think that is a little of the charm.
Hi Lucy It has been awhile since I've posted to your blog. Your little quilts are just adorable. Bonnie told me she was going to be seeing you in December....I'm tickled for you both to spend time together again.

Can't see a crookedy place anywhere, it's just darling. And completely finished. That heart is such a nice contrast to the quilt.
