I took this picture yesterday on my morning walk with our dog Joseph.
You can see the dark clouds coming over. In a minute it hailed and thundered. The weather was cold, freezing. I love it when it feels as if the cold is biting my cheeks. I wonder if its because I was born in the winter.

This is the most amazing picture! I can't wait to see this with you in just about 10 days!
BTW...how EARLY were you walking in the morning?!
Bonnie
I like this picture - do you have only a few hours of daylight in the winter there in the Netherlands? I know the further north you go the shorter the daytime hours are in the winter. I like the cold sometimes too but don't have near as much as I would like here in the northern section of the American South (Arkansas)

How beautiful and how wonderful that you took the time to stop and enjoy the sunset that God gives to everyone...but few notice.
Maybe so, I was born in January in a cold climate and I adore the cold. Your header is very pretty.
You might just be on to something here. I was born early morning in winter - I just love sunrise on crisp clear day. Your photo is beautiful.
I was born in the winter also - but I really dislike the cold. I feel like I suffer for all the cold months until spring finally arrives!
Love your work, Lucy! I am an American of Dutch descent. Three out of 4 of my grandparents immigrated to America in the early 1900s. So I feel we have something in common!
Wow such beautiful scenery, and a great photograph. There are days I like the briskness of cold, other days I'd rather stay inside in the warmth. I think it is whatever I have gotten used to at the time.
I love the picture of all the old quilts in you blog header!
What a wonderful photo, Lucy! I'm born in January, and try to enjoy all the seasons, but I have to admit that spring, summer and fall are my favorites. I like the cold, I just wish we could have it with all the sun of summertime.....But if that happened, I guess it would be some sort of agricultural disaster. I will enjoy what is to the best of my ability!
I love that cold feel on my face as well. I was born in winter too! Hmmmm!
fantastic photo Lucy and I am in agreement with you about that kind of weather. Makes you feel so alive.
I love the same thing and will visit Germany mostly in Winter.
I am also a winter baby.
cheers
Christine
Wow! It's amazing. The picture and the landscape are so beautiful... Enjoy it!
This picture is so beautiful. I almost feel cold air coming through from it. :-)
What a gorgeous photo! "Red in morning, sailors (and people walking their dogs) take warning". Glad you enjoyed the impending storm.
What a thing to be able see while you walk. It is beautiful! I much prefer the cold to the heat. I was born in the Fall, and that is my favorite time of year, maybe timing does have something to do with it.
That photo is amazing. How wonderful to capture it. Love your little squares quilts. Looks like fun!
Merry Christmas!
LOL at Bonnie! She'd like to see something like this but not too early!
You might be onto something there, Lucy. I was born in the height of summer and I so love summer!
Your little quilts are very sweet.
Your picture is beautiful. I too love the bite of the cold crisp winter weather and the red cheeks it leaves, and I too was born in January on a very snowy day--such a scientific study--bet you wern't expectiing that--lol;)
gorgeous photo. breathtaking!
I just love getting up before the rest of the world, it is such a peaceful time, always makes me appreciate the beauty of life!
