As a Dutch woman I collect Dutch fabrics of different kinds. They are very different as what I'm used to working with. I love the bright look of them. Yesterday I made this needlecase. Look at the lace I used. (Think you have to enlarge the picture). It has such tiny windmills with little farms on it. I love it!
I used a pattern from the book
American Doll quilts by Kathleen Tracey

Oh, Lucy, this is just SO adorable ! I still have that beautiful blue roses piece of fabric, that you kindly sent to me a while ago - guess I was treasuring it for the right moment - and now you give me a lovely idea (is there a web link where I could find some vintage Dutch fabric, with those cute lovers ?).
Hugs & smiles to you,
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Very fun. I've been meaning to make a needle case too, instead of just sticking them here and there.
it's so pretty,
how long did it take you to finish it? i think i need one too, i also leave my needles just like brenda, here and there!
and thanks for the link! it makes me remember so much to "little house on the praire" my fav tv show, and i guess that's there when i started loving patchwork!
Wow! Perfectly adorable.
it's cute, you do tiny work so well!

Ohhh....I didn't know there was such a category as Dutch fabric -- uh oh!!
And if it is all as perfectly charming as what you have here, I'm in trouble!
You highlighted the sweetness perfectly with your little project -- wonderful!
Oh Lucy - it is as sweet as can be. I love the boy and girl on the back . . . he has little patch on his pants *s*
That dutch print is adorable. I love the way you captured the girl with her goose on the front and the little couple on the back. The red lace just perfects it.
Being an American woman of Dutch descent, I love all things "Dutch"! This fabric is gorgeous! I hope that someday I will be able to visit the Netherlands.
Very cute, Lucy. I have been getting the Dutch Fabrics club from Minewood Quilting for the past couple of years and have all those fabrics. I may just have to make some very similar. Very good use of the fabrics.

How sweet Lucy - I have some of that fabric bought as a souvenir on my one and only visit to Amsterdam about 5 years ago - I keep saving it to make something special with
I love the fabric *and* the trim! That's the perfect Needlecase.
Very lovely as usual Lucy!
What sweet fabric!
Lucy, it's just the cutest thing. And to put the darling red trim on it, oh, it's perfect.
Interesting! I just used the blue/white Dutch boy and girl fabric to back a baby quilt. It was something someone donated and it was perfect to back the four-patch I made using up fabric scraps. I live in Texas!
I love anything Dutch! Your needle case is lovely.
That is adorable! You sure do have a knack of putting such sweet things together. I enjoy using the needle case you sent me, it is treasured!
I have been reading your blog for some time. I just wanted to stop by and wish you a Happy Valentine's Day. Do they have Valentine's Day in the Netherlands?
I always enjoy reading your blog.
It is a beautiful needlecase.
