" Dit huis is proper genoeg om gezond te zijn, en stoffig genoeg om gelukkig te zijn."
It started with one little house made inspired by The Little Quilts houses. It's a very fun block to make from scraps.
With four houses I could make a mini quilt..
Nothing worked i.m.o.
Quilted and almost the binding is done, BUT there is something. I still don't like it. The chimneys are blending in the doors.
So four new houses were easily made..
Yes this is better, just with sashings and cornerstones simple.

I love your scrappy houses Lucy! I like the one with the sashing and cornerstones the best. Great Post!
Thanks!
What fun to read about the proces of making the lovely little houses quilt. BTW I could make almost the same picture with entrance door, cupboard and "en suite" doors.
It's really cute!Congratulation for Quiltmania!I really love all your work!
Great choice, Lucy ! your final mini quilt is so cute !

I think you are right..the LIGHT sashing made the houses float! And both quilts are good for teaching so you can show your students the difference between what light and dark!!
I love them both..whether the chimney goes into the door or not!

Great to show the creative process. What a good place for the lovely house quilt, on the door.
This post made me laugh... I do this all the time.. I just have to change and remake .. but finally Im getting pleased and happy with it...
And I love your houses...:o)
Love it, love it, love it!
I just love "Little Quilts". Your houses are adorable.
Oh very cute. I love your mini scrappy houses. I think the sashing with the cornerstones was the best choice too.
I love your Little Quilts Houses...and agree that the cornerstones set them off the best!
It's perfect. The sashing fades back and all you see left are the tiny houses!
I certainly liked this one!! Why don't you make a pattern book with minis? I think you have a lot of them, designed by yourself?
These happy houses are darling. I am imagining little felt folk who go inside and live their lives. Maybe they quilt for a hobby.
I love your houses!
This would make a beautiful baby quilt.
Lovely.
Great fun to watch this and be a part of your process. Sounded so familiar
to some of my struggles.
Super leuk lucy !!! Love you're blog, quilts, houses and lessons,
Irene
Absolutely adorable! I do like the second version!
Gorgeous - I like the last one, though they are all very cute - my Happy House Swap has those houses - must try downsizing one day - sure are cute!

Very shining, when I finished my last quilt I will make this beautiful houses... no doubt

Hi!
I stumbled upon your blog and you have some really beautiful pictures and quilts. I was wondering if I could interview you for one of my classes - I'm a junior at the Maryland Institute College of Art and I'm doing a thesis on quilting. If you would be interested in being interviewed you can email me at carissa_holly@yahoo.com
Thank you!!

(sorry for my bad english...I hope it is not to funny to read!)
Great solution to add the sashing and cornerstones. I didn't notice the chimneys and doors though, I think both quilts are very cute!
I love the one with the corner stones. This is so cute!
This mini is really lovely !!! The sashing with the cornerstones really enhances the houses.
I saw the copy of Quiltmania at my local fabric shop and read through it. Waow ! Your house is amazing, particularly the page where the tulip quilt is displayed. And it was nice to see Bonnie too !
Each little quilt has it's own charm...I like them all!
